3D ARChallenge 2026 – 3a Competition

October 2,3 & 4, 2026 – Bevagna (PG) – Italy

The Arcatores de Mevania are honored to host in Bevagna the third European competition of the 2026 3D ARChallenge circuit, promoted by HDH-IAA. An event that brings together sport, precision, and international spirit in the heart of Umbria.
Every competitor will have an exclusive medal and get to experience the “FINAL6”.

But it won’t be just about archery. It will be an opportunity to spend a few days in the “Green Heart of Italy,” close to the celebrations marking the 800th anniversary of the death of Saint Francis of Assisi, Patron Saint of Italy, in the very places where he truly lived and walked.

Amid the beauty of Bevagna, the region’s outstanding food and wine traditions, and the medieval atmosphere of the Mercato delle Gaite craft circuit, the experience will go far beyond competition: it will be a journey through history, nature, and the most authentic traditions of Umbria.

Bevagna

In the heart of Umbria, among rolling hills and rows of vineyards, lies Bevagna: a small medieval gem where time seems to have stood still. Walking through its squares and stone alleys means crossing centuries of history, from ancient Roman Mevania to the artisan workshops that still recreate medieval crafts today.

During the days of the competition, those who choose to stay here will experience far more than a sporting event: they will be able to explore Romanesque churches, remarkably well-preserved Roman remains, sweeping views over the Umbrian valley, and indulge in an authentic and surprising food and wine scene. Local wines, top-quality extra virgin olive oil, and traditional dishes prepared with care and regional ingredients will make every evening an experience to remember.

Bevagna is not just a stop along the way: it is a place to savor slowly, where culture, fine food, and the genuine atmosphere that only Umbrian villages can offer come together.

SAINT FRANCIS 1226 – 2026

In 2026, the 800th anniversary of the death of Saint Francis of Assisi will be celebrated, with events and initiatives throughout Umbria, especially in Assisi, just a few kilometers from Bevagna.

It is precisely in Bevagna that the site of the famous Sermon to the Birds is located, one of the most symbolic episodes of the Franciscan tradition.

October 4th, the exact anniversary of the death of Saint Francis of Assisi, will also symbolically coincide with the final day of the competition.

The Mercato delle Gaite and the Medieval Crafts Circuit

In the heart of Umbria, Bevagna is not just a village to visit: it’s a place to experience. Here arises the Mercato delle Gaite, one of Italy’s most rigorous and fascinating medieval reenactments, which has created a unique permanent experience: the Cultural Circuit of Medieval Crafts.

Open year-round (by appointment), the Circuit allows visitors to step inside the historic workshops of the Paper Mill, the Candle Maker, the Painter, and the Silk Workshop, where artisans and reenactors demonstrate medieval techniques and tools live. Not just a museum, but a true journey into medieval daily life.

During a stay for the competition from October 2–4, taking the time to visit the workshops enriches the sporting experience with an authentic immersion into Bevagna’s history. A perfect opportunity to discover the village’s most surprising side.
